Pigeon Hollow
Pigeon Valley belongs to a natural landscape and is one of the few concentrations of pigeon burrows in the Cappadocia region.
On both sides of this beautiful valley, there are large stones everywhere, and if you look carefully, the stones are densely packed with pigeonholes of different sizes.
For the Cappadochi cave dwellers, pigeons were not only a messenger, but also a source of fertilizer and nutrition.
Above the valley of Dove Valley are the many branches of two old trees, one covered with "blue eyes", a large blue glasses-like pendant is a favorite talisman of the Turks.
According to the locals, bad luck ensues when people are noticed by the evil God. As a result, local residents carried amulets modeled after the eyes of demons to ward off bad luck.
On the branches of another tree are the famous local ceramics. Here is Pigeon Valley to take pictures for a few years more beautiful place!
Uqi Hisar Castle
You can take the minibus in the direction of Nevsehir, tell the driver the location, and will call you to get off
The Uchisa Fortress was actually a fortress carved out of a huge rock 60 meters high and formed a small settlement centered around it. On the surface of the rock are densely distributed caves of different sizes, which are pigeons' nests and look very strange.
Since the fortress is carved out of a huge rock, it may not look like the image you get from the word "Castle".
The Cappadocia region has many similar landforms, Uchisa being the "third fortress" and the other two being Urgup and Ortahisar, but this one is more precipitous.
Residents here have long been collecting pigeon droppings to use as fertilizer in their vineyards. Because pigeons like red, the entrance to the nest is painted red. The interior of the rock was once a fortress, which was hollowed out by early settlers to form a large number of connected caves. In the event of an invasion, the cave's stores of food and water would allow the inhabitants to survive for months without going out.
Climb to the top and watch the sunset
Now a popular tourist spot, you can climb to the top for a panoramic view of the Cappadocia countryside, with a terrace cafe at the entrance. You need to buy a ticket to the top, and in the evening you can enjoy the sunset in the direction of Rose Valley and Pigeon Valley, which is very popular with tourists. The setting sun dyed the land of Greme red as far as the eye could see, intoxicating.
In addition, if you come here in the morning, there is a chance to see the hot air balloon rising in the distance, which is also a beautiful scenery.
Historical sites
The underground city of Drinkuyu
It is a mysterious underground city located in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. Derinkuyu is an extraordinary testament to human ingenuity and resourcefulness, and a fascinating place to captivate explorers and historians alike.
Derinkuyu is believed to have been built during the Byzantine era, around the 8th century BC. It is carved from soft volcanic rock called tuff, which is abundant in the Cappadocia region. What sets Derinkuyu apart is its sheer size and complexity. The underground city extends about 60 meters below the surface and consists of multiple levels connected by a network of tunnels, staircases and ventilation shafts.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Derinkuyu is its purpose. It is considered to be a huge refuge, used to protect residents from external threats, including invasions and natural disasters. It can house thousands of people and their livestock and supplies, making it a self-sustaining shelter capable of sustaining life for a long time. The city has many rooms that provide various functions such as living areas, kitchens, common areas, chapels, and even schools.
Derinkuyu's complex design demonstrates an advanced level of engineering and architectural planning. Narrow tunnels and low-ceilinged passageways were strategically constructed to block the advance of potential intruders. Huge stone gates weighing hundreds of kilograms were used to seal off various parts of the city, forming a defense mechanism against intruders. In addition, an ingenious ventilation system allows fresh air to circulate throughout the underground complex.
Important note: There is a phobia of claustrophobia absolutely do not go inside, the space is particularly small, many places need to bend or even crawl

Basic requirements when I choose a hotel
In the town of Greme
Terrace + carpeted sofa
Is cave hotel (cave hotel will be more expensive sister without this need can find cheaper) rating above 8
Looked at the recommended several, the scenery is really good, but because it is a network red hotel, expensive, and in the morning many guests queue up to take photos, need to race against time. Sisters with a high budget can book, because the stay experience is definitely better.
